I finally decided to try to get out and work "park mobile" with my ICOM IC-718 rig and my little B&W "apartment" antenna. I picked up an amazing amount of activity (considering I'd never heard anything at my home QTH) on 20 and 40 meters. And this time, for the first time, I heard my dad call me on 40 meters...even if it was way in the background! Now I've finally been bit by the DX bug...and now to save up for my Buddipole antenna I want...
